Thanks Tyler
Although the process of making the triangle paintings is much more tedious than my usual gig, it is actually more casual than it seems. It takes a while, but I'm in no hurry. Its something I can do while sitting on the couch watching tv. Its fun, making a pattern and then fucking up the pattern. It doesnt take much to ruin a pattern. Sol Lewitt should come to mind, but quite different. Lewitt dealt with closed systems. He decided on a system of patterns and explored different arrangements within that system. I might be wrong, but I think of the triangle paintings as an open system, where I start with a pattern could be endless, and I put a glitch in the pattern to disrupt the ordered endless pattern.

Also, their meaning is going to change when they are displayed because they will be seen in relation to a group of paintings. The other paintings are of similar size and will be displayed in the same manner, so it should make sense to stand back and put the puzzle together. Not that I know exactly what the end result will be.
Bon Apetite
